MACA SERRANO

I’m Maca, a bilingual Mexican-American writer, filmmaker, and storyteller. I was shaped by the contradictions of growing up on the Texas/Mexico border — a no-man’s-land where cultures, religion, and history collide like tectonic plates.

In English, Spanish & Spanglish, my Film & TV work spans comedy to drama, often through a historical lens, always with a sharp, satirical edge. At its core, my writing centers intransigent women (and other misfits and outcasts) raising hell against those who would domesticate them to claim lives that are boldly and authentically theirs.
